The son of Frank and Mary Jaques, he was born Sept. 10, 1931, in Banta and attended Banta and Tracy schools.
After operating a dairy for several years, Mr. Jacques switched to row-crop farming, growing tomatoes, alfalfa and other crops.
He was later joined by his two sons, Anthony and Mario Jaques, in Jaques Farms, which developed into a major Tracy-area farming operation.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Ann Jaques of Tracy; four daughters, Antoinette Crosby, and her husband, Mike, of Manteca, Diana Mast, and her husband, Daniel, Marie Morris, and her husband, Ronald, and Ann Jaques-Machado, all of Tracy; two sons, Anthony Jaques, and his wife, Nance, of Tracy and Mario Jaques of Stockton; and 12 grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Delores Parson of San Jose and Evelyn Machado of Tracy.
A rosary and a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave. Burial will be in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road.
Visitation will be observed from 1 to 7 p.m. Oct. 19 at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave.
