Tracy police were unable to locate a man following a foot chase in the area of Chaplin Way and Christy Street on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

The man was driving a vehicle in the area at around 1:20 p.m. when he allegedly jumped out and ran, leaving the vehicle running in the street.

A resident on Christy Street called 911 and stated that a Latino man had jumped the fence to her yard and was going through her garbage can in an effort to hide inside of it.

When police arrived to check the residence, the man was already gone and hasn’t been seen since.

The Tracy Police Department received 202 calls for service Tuesday, Oct. 9. The following is a sample of those calls.

7:59 a.m.: Animal control officers impounded a stray dog that was found wandering on the 1800 block of West Lowell Avenue. The dog reportedly appeared to be emaciated.

11:59 a.m.: Two black men seen driving in a white Buick on the 1500 block of Aldacourrou Street were thought to be casing houses in the neighborhood. The vehicle, which was registered to a residence in Stockton, was gone when police arrived.

12:50 p.m.: A man was allegedly attacked by two other men at the Tracy Park Apartments, 2800 N. Tracy Blvd. One of the men reportedly had a chain. A police report was expected.

4:03 p.m.: A fence on the 1600 block of Behaven Court was allegedly damaged by teenagers who jump over it. The most recent incident is part of an on going problem with teenagers damaging the fence.

5:05 p.m.: A resident on the 100 block of Hollywood Avenue is allegedly killing their neighbor’s grass and trees with weed killer spray. The neighbor wanted police to respond but didn’t want officers to confront the alleged culprit.

11:32 p.m.: Police responded to Rusty’s Pizza and Bar, 320 W. Grant Line Road, where a woman was apparently struck by a vehicle outside of the business. The victim was transported to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital with undisclosed injuries. It’s unclear what happened to the driver who allegedly struck the woman.
