The ninth-grade girls and eighth-grad boys of the Mountain House Wolverines youth basketball club made the trip.
The girls team, in its second year, opened with a 29-26 loss, and came back to win their second game 39-22 and third game 40-15.
The team includes Natalie Johnson, who attends Ripon Christian High, Bria Gorman, Jennalyne Kol and Kimberly Boss, all freshmen at Kimball High, plus eighth-graders Erika Concepcion and Janessa Pena-Maxion. Their coach is Pang Kol.
The new boys team went 2-1 in its first tournament. Team leaders include point guard J.D. Dike, forward Trevor Baker, guard Amal Thommil and defensive stopper David Grant. Their coach is Paul Boss.
