Extra police patrols were requested around the school, 535 Mabel Josephine Drive, at 11:04 a.m., when the 11-year-old boy told his mother about the incident.
The boy reportedly rode away on his bicycle and was unable to provide a description of the man or his vehicle.
According to the log, the man allegedly tried to lure the child into the vehicle but didn’t follow him when he rode away.
Tracy police received 152 calls for service Monday, Oct. 1. The following is a sample of those calls.
7:28 a.m.: A silver 2009 Chevy Malibu was allegedly stolen from in front of a residence on the 700 block of West Mount Diablo Avenue. The owner was reportedly inside while the vehicle was warming up and saw it being driven away as he returned outside. Police are investigating.
8:41 a.m.: Police were unable to verify reports that students from Millennium High School were smoking marijuana at a residence on the 200 block of West Lowell Avenue. An employee at the school received an anonymous tip that students were smoking at the residence and that there were also marijuana plants growing on the property. Police spoke with an elderly couple living at the home and found no signs that students were present.
11:21 a.m.: A woman was allegedly hitting the door of All Auto and Truck, 500 W. Grant Line Road, with a sledgehammer. The woman was reportedly in a dispute with her landlord, who was inside the business, about being evicted from a property. Police advised the woman the issue was a civil matter and that she needed to seek legal advice. The police log indicates no charges were filed in the incident.
3:29 p.m.: Police arrested a 46-year-old man on the 1100 block of West 11th Street for allegedly punching a second man 15 times in the face. The victim was reportedly at a doctor’s office waiting for approval to visit an oral surgeon.
10:01 p.m.: Two men were allegedly seen trying to burglarize a vehicle that was parked on the 2400 block of Lighthouse Circle. They were gone when police arrived.
11:20 p.m.: Police arrested a man in Kingsley Park, 2130 Robert Gabriel Road, for unknown reasons. The man was allegedly looking into vehicles with a flashlight with a group of three other people. Details about the man’s name, age and charges were redacted from the police log. The log does indicate that the man might have an outstanding warrant.
