Police Log: Neighbors argue over dog

A caller reported a neighbor was antagonizing his dog on the 1400 block of Harvest Lane at 6:10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27. The caller said his neighbor complains about his dog barking, but he said the barking was due in part to the neighbor’s chickens. He said the neighbor also propped her grandchild on the fence the day before to get the dog to bark. Animal control was notified.

Tracy police received 180 calls for service Thursday, Sept. 27. The following is a sample of those calls.

12:52 a.m.: A caller reported someone throwing rocks at his apartment on the 100 block of Portola Way. He told police it was an ongoing problem.

2:47 a.m.: Police arrested two men, ages 27 and 23, for being drunk in public on the 1800 block of West 11th Street.

4:24 a.m.: Police arrested a 19-year-old man for an outstanding warrant on the 1400 block of Cottonwood Drive. The arrest occurred after a caller reported a man was trying to break into his house. No information was provided on the type of warrant.

7:34 a.m.: A caller reported someone broke into his daughter’s car and took several items on the 500 block of Rockingham Court.

8:03 a.m.: A caller reported someone went into his car on the 1400 block of Chester Drive, but nothing was reported missing.

9:32 a.m.: Police issued a warning to a man found stealing recyclables on the 800 block of Central Avenue.

9:49 a.m.: Police arrested a 62-year-old man for an outstanding warrant for grand theft on the 2300 block of Holly Drive. He was booked into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.

10:30 a.m.: A woman’s neighbor was allegedly pointing a video camera at her house on the 1600 block of Reyes Lane.

11:20 a.m.: A caller reported his 9-year-old son was kicked by another student at South Elementary School, 500 W. Mount Diablo Ave. He said school officials told him they were too busy to deal with the issue. Police checked, and both students were suspended for hitting each other.

12:35 p.m.: Animal control issued a warning to a dog owner after a neighbor reported the dog was tied up in a yard near Jenni Lane and Kelly Street. The neighbor said the dog had wrapped itself up and could no longer reach its food or water.

5:08 p.m.: Police arrested a drunken man after he was harassing some runners near East and 11th streets. The caller said the man was urinating on a fence and blocked the path of the runners while threatening to hit them.

5:19 p.m.: Police arrested a drunken man who was allegedly masturbating at the Tracy Sports Complex, 955 Crossroads Drive.

8:20 p.m.: A caller reported a man taking pictures of people who pass by near Parkside and Plymouth drives. He was gone before police arrived.
