Mr. Barrow was born March 1, 1942, in Vallejo and attended Tracy schools, Modesto Junior College, Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, and California State University, Stanislaus.
He and his father ran Carbona Blacksmith and Welding in Tracy. He also managed oil leases in Kentucky and became an English teacher at age 40, teaching 16 years in Afton, Wyo., and five years at Tokay High School in Lodi.
A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mr. Barrow served two stake missions for his church and was in two bishoprics in Tracy.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Ann Simas Barrow of Springville; sons, Eric Donald Barrow, and his wife, Angie, of Lodi, Evan Dana Barrow, and his wife, Lisa, of Hayfork, Alec Devlyn Barrow, and his wife, Irene, of Provo, Utah, and Kyle Daniel Barrow of Hayfork; sister, Klee Marchant of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Jesse T. Barrow and Reva Argen Penrod Barrow; and a son, Ross Darren Barrow.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Lindquist Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., in Ogden, Utah. Visitation will be observed an hour before the service, from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Burial will be in West Warren Cemetery in West Warren, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be sent to a local food bank or the LDS Church’s perpetual education fund.
