Last week’s Remember When “mystery photo,” below left, showed Pat Rogers (left) and R.M. “Mike” Adams in 1992 at the H.J. Heinz Co. factory. The photo was taken when Rogers succeeded Adams as plant manager.
Rogers grew up in Tracy and started with Heinz in 1955 after graduating from Tracy High School. He had been with Heinz in New Jersey and Ohio, and he returned to Tracy in 1989 as manager of transportation and warehousing. He served as plant manager until 1998, when the factory, then the largest Heinz tomato-processing facility worldwide, was closed.
Greg Jimenez, a longtime Heinz employee; former Heinz employee Robert Cameron; and Jeanne Garcia were among those identifying Rogers and Adams in the photo.
