The registered owner of the vehicle was contacted, and he claimed the vehicle had been stolen. The owner said the Civic was most recently seen at 3 p.m. near East and 23rd Street, where it was left before he walked to a family member’s house on F Street where there was “going to be drinking,” according to the police log. He said he had one beer at about 5 p.m.
Police requested a flatbed truck to take away the damaged car.
Tracy police received 168 calls for service Monday, Sept. 24. The following is a sample of those reports.
7:02 a.m.: At least one person ran through the backyard of a house on the 1800 block of Court Drive and damaged a fence, according to a woman who lives there.
7:43 a.m.: A Hyundai Accent was reported stolen from the Tracy Park Apartments, 2800 N. Tracy Blvd.
08:05 a.m.: Police cited a man sleeping in a sleeping bag underneath the bleachers at Tracy Ballpark off Tracy Boulevard.
9:05 a.m.: A student at West High School, 1775 W. Lowell Ave., was found to not be under the influence of marijuana, though school officials told police he smelled like the drug. Police found the student’s brother has a medical marijuana card, and the brother was advised to not allow his sibling access to the drug.
10:23 a.m.: Two people were reportedly fighting on the 100 block of West Carlton Way. One person interviewed by police said a man got into a fight with his mother, who didn’t want to press charges. Two juveniles there were warned about trespassing.
2:07 p.m.: A man on the 1400 block of Suellen Drive asked for extra patrols after he said a teenage driver in a minivan sped past close to him and his 5-year-old son.
4:15 a.m.: A caller on the 2500 block of Golden Springs Drive said someone had illegally accessed a banking account.
5:10 p.m.: A crew cab Chevrolet truck was stolen from behind Rusty’s, 320 W. Grant Line Road, according to a caller who said she parked it there Friday.
6:41 p.m.: A woman reported that she and her husband found a 2- or 3-year-old boy was wandering around without parents. Police responded and identified the child’s mother.
8:37 p.m.: Police made an arrest on suspicion of trespassing at a house on the 300 block of Accipiter Court.
9:24 p.m.: A man was seen in an alley off the first block of West Sixth Street, and reportedly hit a car with a baseball bat.
