Two people were arrested early Sunday, Sept. 16, at a bar and grill in northern Tracy following a fight during which at least one gunshot was allegedly fired.

A “group” of people were reportedly fighting outside of Covey’s Sports Grill, 2712 Naglee Road, at around 1:25 a.m., according to the Tracy police log.

Witnesses told police that one gunshot was fired during the fight and that the alleged shooter had put the gun inside of a Ford Mustang parked outside of the sports grill.

Tracy police, with assistance from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department and the California Highway Patrol, checked inside of the bar for injuries, but found that none of the estimated 50 patrons were hurt.

Police later identified Anthony Reed, 31, as the alleged shooter and arrested him at the scene. Reed was taken to the San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp on two felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the jail website. His bail was set at $125,000, and a court appearance in San Joaquin County Superior Court was set for Tuesday, Sept. 18, in Stockton.

Danielle Cummings, 31, was also arrested and taken to county jail. Cummings was charged with misdemeanor possession of a loaded firearm in a public place and felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, the jail website states. A bail of $103,000 has been set and a court hearing was schedule for Tuesday, Sept. 18 in the Manteca branch of superior court.

The police log indicates that investigators located a gun and possibly entered it as evidence related to the alleged shooting. No further details were available.

Tracy police received 448 calls for service Friday, Sept. 14, through Sunday, Sept. 16. The following is a sampling of those calls.

Sunday

2:38 a.m.: Police removed a man from 7-Eleven, 455 W. Grant Line Road, because the man was allegedly intoxicated and talking to an imaginary person.

3:29 a.m.: A warning was issued to a person who was shooting a BB gun on the 400 block of East Grant Line Road. The person was using a flashlight to shoot “at some creatures in his backyard” from a tree, the log states, and he was unaware that the BBs were going across Grant Line Road and striking employees having a lunch break outside of a business.

9:03 a.m.: Employees confronted a man for allegedly stealing items from Orchard Supply Hardware, 1975 W. 11th St. The man was seen putting the undisclosed items in the bed of a Ford truck, and when employees questioned him, he allegedly ran from the parking lot. Police were unable to locate the man, but officers had the truck towed from the store parking lot.

11:25 a.m.: Three minors who were seen trespassing on the property of Traina School, 4256 Windsong Drive, were gone when police arrived to remove them.

9:17 p.m.: A 32-year-old man who was allegedly passed out in the grass at McDonald Park, 55 N. Central Ave., was arrested and taken to San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp. The man was released sometime early Monday, Sept. 17, according to the jail website.

7:36 p.m.: Police arrested a 39-year-old man in the area of 10th Street and Tracy Boulevard on charges of uttering a fictitious check and violation of parole, the county jail website states. No bail was set in the case.

8:42 p.m.: A 20-year-old man was arrested on his birthday in the drivethru of In-N-Out, 575 W. Clover Road, for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. The man allegedly bumped his vehicle into the bumper of the vehicle in front of his. Witnesses reportedly told police that he had “red eyes” and “stumbled getting out and turned on the windshield wipers,” the log states. The man then allegedly got into a physical altercation with the other driver. Police took the man to San Joaquin County Jail where his charges include misdemeanor battery, vandalism and three dui-related charges, and a felony charge of vandalism more than $1,000, the jail website states.

Saturday

2:29 a.m.: Police arrested a 30-year-old man for an outstanding warrant for driving under the influence on the 3700 block of North Tracy Boulevard.

3:20 a.m.: A woman called to report someone knocking on her door at an apartment complex on the 300 block of West Ninth Street. She was upset and thought she saw a flashlight, she told police. Police checked and contacted a man who said he knocked on two doors looking for his girlfriend.

8:54 a.m.: A woman on the 1400 block of Parker Avenue said a person who sold her a dog now wants more money. She added the seller was supposed to send her the dog but refused to do so without the extra money.

4:27 p.m.: A caller reported someone stole a package off his porch on the 200 block of West Carlton Way. He said the package contained a $200 battery and he might have the thief on video. Police are investigating.

7:55 p.m.: Police are investigating a suspicious car fire at the Tracy Community Center, 950 East St. The police received several 911 calls for a Chevy Impala on fire.

9:53 p.m.: A woman reported someone put gang graffiti on her son’s van and on the sidewalk near Alleghney Street and Columbia Court. She said she would take pictures and remove the graffiti.

11:08 p.m.: A caller reported someone shooting fireworks at Fitzpatrick Park, 1355 Bluegrass Lane.

Friday

12:01 a.m.: A woman called to report her daughter heard a noise outside her window on the 1900 block of Lincoln Boulevard. When she went outside to check, the woman found a knife next to her car. She said she suspected the girl’s father.

3:11 a.m.: Police arrested a 14-year-old boy for unknown charges after a caller reported someone was trying to get into cars on the 2600 block of Spencer Court.

4:10 a.m.: A caller reported someone stole a bicycle out of his garage on the 1600 block of Gardenia Court.

4:29 a.m.: A caller reported a car hit a pole and blew the transformer near Byron and Von Sosten roads. The California Highway Patrol was contacted. Tracy police were called at 5:43 a.m. to assist with traffic control while Pacific Gas and Electric Co. employees replaced the pole.

8:25 a.m.: A woman called to report her house had been broken into while she was in the process of moving on the 2600 block of Ponte Mira Court.

8:38 a.m.: A caller reported a possible rabid skunk on the 700 block of Winger Lane.

11:46 a.m.: Police arrested an 18-year-old woman for battery on the 100 block of Ferdinand Street. The arrest occurred after a caller reported three men and a woman were in a fist fight. The woman reportedly threw a rock at another woman and threatened to shoot up her house.

2:01 p.m.: Someone stole a woman’s wallet while she was at work at In Shape Fitness, 2311 N. Tracy Blvd.

2:14 p.m.: A student was reprimanded at Monte Vista Middle School, 751 W. Lowell Ave., after she told other students she was possessed and killed her uncle, and reportedly threatened to kill other students. Staff said the other students became alarmed when the girl started to describe scenes from a movie. She was reprimanded while her parents were present.

8:57 p.m.: A man called to report a group in a car followed him and threatened to shoot him on the 1500 block of Jennifer Way. He first had words with the people while he was walking, and they then followed him. Police stopped a car with a group of teens who denied making any threats.

10:06 p.m.: A crash near the intersection of Loma Verde Way and Tracy Boulevard resulted in one car overturning, blocking traffic on the boulevard for an hour. The crash involved a 2003 Honda Accord, which was overturned after an impact with a 2003 Ford F150, hitting a light pole. Pacific Gas and Electric Co. officials were also called for possible electrical wires in the roadway. No injuries were reported, but an ambulance was called to the accident.

11:50 p.m.: A caller reported seeing a vehicle hit his neighbor’s parked van on the 300 block of Ormonde Street. He said it appeared the vehicle that hit the van had damage to its radiator and was leaving a water trail going east.
