Girls Golf: West opens league play with road win

West High’s girls golf team (1-1) traveled to Elkhorn Golf Club in Stockton on Tuesday, Sept. 11, for a Tri-City Athletic League win, 326-360, over McNair.

Ashley Gonzales led the way for the West team with a score of 60 on the par-37 course. Also scoring for West were Bobbi Loggins (62), Samantha McCain (66), Ashley Aguilera (69) and Vanessa Nunez (69).



Lodi 191, Tracy 221

Tracy High’s golfers lost to the defending Sac-Joaquin Section Division I champion team from Lodi on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Old River Golf Course.

Lodi won Tuesday’s league match to drop Tracy to 1-1 in San Joaquin Athletic Association play, and 4-3 overall.

The top golfer for the Bulldogs on the par-36 course was Jennifer Kim (40). Tracy’s other scores were Kirsten Bas, 42, Shelby Devlin, 46, Rachel Haro, 46, Annie Fox, 47, and Alee Balanon, 56.



East Union 211, Kimball 251

The Jaguar golf team (3-1) saw its first loss of the Valley Oak League season on Monday, Sept. 10, at Old River Golf Course.

Lydia Nolen led the Kimball team with a score of 44 on the par-36 course. Other Kimball scores included Taylor Honnoll, 45, Maya Crooms, 49, Savannah Dunniway, 53, Patricia Fabila, 60 and Angela Peyton, 64.

Top score for the day went to East Union’s Brooke Riley, who shot 35.



Kimball 275, Manteca 291

Kimball High’s golfers added a win to their VOL record on Thursday, Sept. 6, over the Buffaloes from Manteca High at Manteca Park Golf Course.

Kimball’s Lydia Nolen was the top golfer for the day with a score of 47 on the par-37 course.

Other scores for Kimball were: Taylor Honnoll 50, Maya Crooms 54, Lill Craig 61, Savannah Dunniway 63 and Jullianna Goulding.



Tracy 298, Franklin 363

The Bulldogs team (3-2) opened SJAA play on Thursday, Sept. 6, with the win over Franklin High of Stockton at Oakmoore Golf Course in Stockton.

Annie Fox led the Bulldog team with a score of 53 on the par-36 course. Tracy’s other scores included Kirsten Bas, 57, Rachel Haro, 57, Alee Balanon, 64, Amanda Vasquez, 67 and Hunter Andrade, 70.
