Tickets are still available for Willie Nelson’s shows this week on the main stage at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts.

Despite strong sales over the Tracy Dry Bean Festival weekend, according to co-art program manager Jeffrey Haskett, about 150 tickets remain for the 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, and Wednesday, Sept. 12, engagements at that kick off the Grand’s sixth season of entertainment. The remaining tickets are in the $80 price range, Haskett said.

But Haskett said it’s a good price for a Nelson show, considering what tickets that close to the stage usually cost. At Nelson’s next concert, Sept. 13 in Saratoga, Haskett said the $80 seats are much farther from the action.

Two streets near the Grand Theatre will be closed starting Tuesday morning. Both Seventh Street and Jackson Alley between Central Avenue and C Street will be closed to traffic. They will re-open Thursday morning.

Tickets for the concert can be purchased at the box office at 715 Central Ave. or from www.atthegrand.org.

I am not impressed with the people running the Grand Theatre. Just a side note...if your not making money then it's time for you to go!!!! The efforts made by Jeff have me on the fence. He does some good in this town...but you arent making money and on top of it you are getting paid for not bringing in money. Your customer appreciation skills can be better and you can network better around town. In other words....step it up jeff or lets find someone else to stop the bleeding of the grand theatre. I am very un impressed with the efforts of jeff and staff. Make money from the tax payers money...no blow it! Seriously...name one other business that can get away with doing bad financial business and still be up and running and acting like they are doing something worth while for the community.

So instead of losing $18,000 in this deal, they will lose $30,000, but the Grand Theater's administration doesn't mind. Why? Because it isn't their money... its taxpayer money. But we got Willie Nelson!

The Administrators of the Grand should be fired for their mismanagement of this venue. Tracy will never be off the hook if they don't get someone to manage this like a business.

So it costs 18 grand IF THEY SELL OUT. What was the final tally to the citizens that are daily asked to give more. Can't even sell out 1200 tickets, REALLY,,,,,,,
