The play, described as frothy and farcical, is directed by Nicholas Ahwal, a Tracy High student and member of the International Thespian Society drama club.
Ahwal, 17, was chosen by his classmates to select a script and take charge of casting, blocking the actors and steering the show.
He said he chose the 1988 play because he wanted a comedy that families could enjoy watching together. The action follows four well-to-do New York couples invited to an anniversary party after the host shoots himself, the hostess disappears and the host’s lawyer and his wife try to cover it all up.
“Rumors” will begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Emma Baumgardner Theater. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for general admission.
