Sheriff’s spokesman Les Garcia said the suspects, Sukhbir Singh, 32, and Murri Mitchell, 40, shot at a house on the 3100 block of West Yosemite Avenue in Lathrop. Deputies in the area spotted the men and followed them to Interstate 205 and then MacArthur Drive in Tracy, where they attempted a car stop.
Singh reportedly drove the pickup truck back onto I-205 westbound, and Garcia said that the pursuit was terminated in the area of I-5 and Downing Avenue in Stockton when the chase reached speed of more than 100 mph.
A short time later, a California Highway Patrol officer saw the pickup and resumed the chase. Singh led police through areas of Stockton, Lathrop and Manteca, where he eventually crashed. He was arrested immediately while Mitchell was later found hiding on an apartment roof.
Garcia said no injures were reported in the shooting in Lathrop.
Both men were booked into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp. They are each charged with willfully discharging a firearm into an inhabited dwelling, receiving stolen property, conspiracy, evading police and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. Mitchell has an additional charge of parole violation.
