Former Tracy resident Humbert “Al” Fosco, 81, died Aug. 11 at his home in Patterson. Services are pending.

Mr. Fosco was born June 11, 1931, in Cleveland, Ohio, and served in the U.S. Army before moving to California. During a 40-year career as an operating engineer, he worked on construction in countries around the world.

He lived on South Bird Road in Tracy from 1995 to 2011.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Schick Fosco of Patterson; children, Bernadette DeLaMotte, and her husband, Al, of Ventura, Benedetto Fosco, and his wife, Amanda, of Indiana, Yvette Fosco of El Rio, Frances Innocenti, and her husband, Joe, of Ventura, Emma Marquez of Oceanside and Sam Schick of Elko, Nev.; two sisters, Violet Brun of Cincinnati and Rosie Grzybowski, and her husband, Richard, of Twinsburg, Ohio; a brother, John Fosco, and his wife, Vicky, of Strongsville, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Benedetto and Josephine Fosco; three sisters, Anna Bodzioney, Angie Bocian and Rose Fosco; and a brother, Michael Fosco.

A celebration of Mr. Fosco’s life will be planned at a later date.
