In Service: Local airman finishes basic training

Airman Kimberly L. Schulze graduated from U.S. Air Force basic military training July 6 at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Schulze, a 2011 graduate of West High School, earned an Expert Marksmanship ribbon during basic training at Lackland. Her training flight achieved BEAST Excellence during Basic Expeditionary Airmen Skills Training and also received the Peterson Award, named for the first female chief master sergeant of the Air Force, and recognition for top female physical training.

When Schulze completes technical training in Virginia, she will be stationed at Ramstein Air Base in Germany.

She is the daughter of Dave and Joyce Schulze of Tracy.

Delta Charter grad

Airman Lucas T. Duncan, a 2010 graduate

of Delta Charter High School, completed basic military training in July at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Duncan learned military discipline, Air Force core values, fitness and warfare skills during an eight-week-course.

He is the son of Bryan and Lori Duncan of Tracy.
