According to Tracy Unified spokeswoman Jessica Cardoza, the change agreed upon by the school district board Tuesday, Aug. 14, is a formality in response to the July 1 unification of Lammersville Elementary School District in Mountain House and the rural area northwest of Tracy.
Before Lammersville’s unification, TUSD was responsible for teaching Mountain House’s high school-age students, who were considered to be within the Alameda County boundaries even though the town of Mountain House is completely within San Joaquin County lines.
The word “joint” was used because the Tracy district contained territory in a second county — in this case, Alameda.
Now that Lammersville Unified School District is incorporated and in the process of building its own high school, Cardoza said, its students are no longer deemed Tracy Unified students.
Cardoza said letters would be sent to the county office of education and the state department of education to notify them of the change.
Although Tracy Unified has changed its name, the district will still be responsible for the education of Mountain House’s ninth-to-12th grade students until construction is completed next year on the first phase of Mountain House High School.

There is barley enough students there to sustain a high school for long.
They will spend millions of dollars for a school that will probably never come close to 1,000 students. Probably cheaper to bus the kids to Tracy, but hey if they don't want to do this, that is their choice.
But something tells me this is going to be a disaster. Like the Delta College Campus out there in the middle of no where.
Quotations are not allowed an truncate th rest of th commentator's comments.
Yer security human test is atrocious in that ya gotta hunt fer somethang ya can type in correctly cause th letters are all strung tagether an are mostly not even words at all, not ta mention characters that don't appear on a standard keyboard.
Now ta Chris Roberts.
Can we quote ya on yer never comment? Never is a long time.
Frum my recollection th failing Delta College campus is due ta th political graft an corruption of the Delta College board aided by individuals in Tracy that didn't want ta see th campus appear on land they wanted ta sell ta housin developers.
It's not really fair ta blame those who live in Mountain House for that failure and they have th same desires an aspirations fer thair lives an families that many now current Tracy residents had when they moved ta Tracy causin it's population ta grow ta th present 83 thousand plus people.
Guess ya don't remember when Tracy had only one High School an th base population of Tracy was about 8,000 people not all that long ago. But that is probably before ya were born or moved inta th area, assumin ya weren't born here.
Personally I'm not all that enthralled that Mountain House exists but it does an thair ain't nothin I can do about it. It's pointless, not ta mention stupid, ta blame th people who live thair just as it's pointless an stupid ta blame th people who moved ta Tracy fer th problems that Tracy has at present.
Live goes on an communities grow. Deal with it or be a miserable complainer fer th rest of yer life.
They are slated to have 900 to 1000 kids when the school first opens with Freshmen and Sophmores and growing from there. I think the real story is how many bricks TUSD will be crapping once they lose the tax money per kid from MH. They only let Lammersville Unify because they needed the cash payout MH gave them at the time and they never thought MH would be able to unify and start building the High School on such an agressive schedule. They figured it was going to be free money in their pockets and MH would eventually fail and LUSD would have to fold back into TUSD. Sorry, didn't happen.
And as far as the Delta College Campus goes, what failure are you referring to? Try and register for a class out there and see if you can get in. The portables were only temporary, but thanks to some new Tracy board members, they axed the permanent buildings and reallocated the money even though it was already there. No worries, the permanent buildings will come once Delta gets their stuff in order. Right now with all the cuts, they're having a tough time.

Actually none. When it all happens TUSD will no longer be TUSD but TSD instead.
But I do get yer point.
However, if ya believe education is important then in th long run it don't really matter. Unfortunately too many parent's feel it's th obligation of th schools ta teach thair children when actually it's th parent's responsibility.
Th scripture, "Raise up a child in th way he should go an when he is old he will not depart frum it," is directed at parents, not an intangible village, origination, school district or government. It squarely places th responsibilities of education on th shoulders of th parents who brought th child inta this world.

Careful there...I think your numbers are a little off.

shows 600 now for 9th & 10th grades only, which is all the HS will be teaching in the first year and 750 in 2014 when they add 11th grade...they may hit 1000 in 2015/2016 when they get to be a 4 year school and if they keep building in Questa.
Some people in MH seem to think this HS is an answer to all their problems...me, I just see it as another item to tax me on.
