A 23-year-old man, who reportedly crashed his Ford F-150 truck into a canal, was arrested following the crash at 2:56 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13.

The crash occurred on the 1800 block of North MacArthur Drive after the truck veered off of the roadway and into a flood control channel. The driver received medical treatment for bleeding from his face after a worker at the nearby Jacobson Warehouse helped him out of the truck. No passengers were in the truck.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and driving without a license. Police took him to San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp where he was booked and released.

Tracy police received 178 calls for service Monday, Aug. 13. The following is a sampling of those calls.

12:16 a.m.: Forced entry was made into a residence on the 300 block of Burlington Drive. A door screen appeared to have been cut and the door was found open. Police searched the home but found no signs of anything missing. Officers secured the home and left a business card for the residents.

2:33 a.m.: Police arrested a person for an outstanding warrant from Lodi during a pedestrian stop in the area of Holly Drive and Larch Road.

7:23 a.m.: Williams Middle School, 1600 Tennis Lane, was reportedly burglarized. An unknown number of items were reported missing.

8:46 a.m.: Two women and a man were reportedly acting suspicious around vehicles parked at Green Oaks Mobile Park, 2920 N. MacArthur Drive. The trio was allegedly bending over near the gas tanks of vehicles. Police located the group, but no crime was found to be committed.

10:11 a.m.: The owner of a gold GMC truck was allegedly seen dumping concrete down a city drain on the 400 block of West Clover Road. The man was cleaning out a pumper. Public works was dispatched to clean the drain, and police report was taken.

10:16 a.m.: A 25-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant during a traffic stop on the 100 block of East Grant Line Road. The man was booked into county jail on a warrant for petty larceny, according to the jail website.

11:24 a.m.: A concrete chain saw was stolen from the 1200 block of Lincoln Boulevard. The machine is valued at $2,500. Police entered the item into a stolen property database.

11:39 a.m.: A customer at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 3150 Naglee Road, was removed from the store for becoming combative with an employee. The customer was angry that Barnes & Noble was supporting the movie “Dark Knight” and allegedly said that the store’s endorsement partly led to the movie theater shooting July 20 in Aurora, Colo., during which 12 people were killed and 58 injured.

4:38 p.m.: Police issued a warning to a dog owner on the 3200 block of Byron Road for improper tethering of a German shepherd. The dog was allegedly tied to a water pipe for at least four days without receiving food or water. The owner was not home, so police left the notice and planned to follow up.

4:47 p.m.: A person was arrested for allegedly stealing merchandise valued at $59.20 from Walmart, 3010 W. Grant Line Road. No further details were available.

9:50 p.m.: Police arrested a 28-year-old man who was found sleeping in the grass in the area of Holly Drive and Carlton Way. The man was allegedly found with burglary tools and a smoking pipe. He also allegedly began to resist police and punch a fingerprinting machine.
