Services will be Wednesday, Aug. 15, for former Tracy resident Stephen E. Petz, 64, a Tracy High School graduate, who died Sunday, Aug. 5, in Manteca.

Born May 21, 1948, in Stockton, Mr. Petz lived in Tracy before moving to Manteca 20 years ago.

At Tracy High, he played football and was undefeated as a wrestler. He graduated in 1966 and joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 1968 to 1972.

He later worked for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and was a rancher before retiring.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Petz of Manteca; four children, Desiree Klein, and her husband, Joshua, of Manteca, Holly Garcia, and her husband, Ricardo, of Lathrop, Stephen Petz, and his wife, MaryEllen, of Las Vegas and Michelle Petz of Idaho; three siblings, Susan Piper, and her husband, Ernest, of Coalinga, Stanley Petz, and his wife, Kathy, of Manteca and Sandra Solano, and her husband, Rob, of Yreka; and a grandson.

Wednesday’s services will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave. Burial will follow in Tracy Cemetery, 501 W. Schulte Road.
