The Titans outscored their opponents 50-6 in five games Saturday and Sunday. The wins helped build a 12-game winning streak for the team, which has been together since February, according to Dave Duncan, Tracy Titans president.
“We started with many girls that were completely new to softball at this level of competition,” Duncan said. “Those girls faced some tough losses in the beginning, but they improved and took their game to a highly competitive level.”
Offensive standouts during the weekend were Sophia Ramirez, who hit a triple, a home run and four singles; Alyssa Barba, with two home runs and three singles; Angel Fragoso, with a home run and three singles; and Madelyn Melo, with a double and three singles.
Aaliyah Gordon struck out 31 batters in 15 innings, and Chloe Faulk struck out 14 batters in nine innings.
Pitching coach Jenni Holtz added that that the winning streak included a perfect game and a 15-strikeout no-hitter.
The Titans’ other tournament wins included the Jungle Safari at Rainbow Fields in Modesto, where the team went 5-0 on July 28 and 29, and the Summer Smash in Elk Grove, where the Titans went 3-2 on July 14 and 15 and won the silver bracket.
Other team members are Sophia Ramirez, Emma Anderson, A.J. Jimenez, Breanna Guzman, Aubrey Ramirez, Renee Jones and Myranda Higaki.
