According to a press release from San Joaquin County Sheriff’s spokesman Les Garcia, a man who law enforcement did not identify said three men entered his house on the 15800 block of South Tracy Boulevard, north of the city limits, around 4:15 a.m.
The men awoke the homeowner in his bedroom and demanded money and jewelry, the homeowner told the sheriff's office. The homeowner gave them five $100 bills.
Once the burglars left, the victim followed the men in his car, Garcia stated, driving west on South Lammers Road north of Tracy. When the two cars were west of Corral Hollow Road, according to Garcia, the victim rammed his front bumper into the suspects’ rear bumper, in an effort to stop them. But the robbery victim lost control of his car and crashed into a telephone pole, Garcia stated.
The victim’s car caught on fire and burned at the scene of the crash, Garcia reported.
The victim called the sheriff’s office after he escaped his car, flagged down a passing vehicle and hitched a ride back to his house, Garcia stated.
According to the victim, the man who demanded the money was described as a black man in his 30s, 6-feet tall, with short hair and a slender build. The second man in the bedroom was described as a man of unknown race, 5-foot-8, of slender build and wearing a dark blue jacket.
No information was provided about the third man allegedly at the house.
