The driver of a purple Ford truck allegedly brandished a gun in a parking lot in the area of Grant Line Road and Tracy Boulevard on Friday, July 27. Police responded to the area at 1:57 p.m., located the driver and discovered it was a toy gun. The owner destroyed the toy, and no report was taken by police.

Tracy police received 535 calls for service from Friday, July 27 to Sunday, July 29. The following is a sample of those calls.

Sunday

3:09 a.m.: Police arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly possessing a car burglary kit. The man was sitting in a vehicle in the area of Dovenshire Drive and Marie Avenue. Police searched the man and his vehicle when they allegedly saw marijuana in plain view when they approached the man.

9:48 a.m.: A 44-year-old man was arrested on the 2300 block of Cabana Lane and served for an outstanding warrant from Santa Clara County.

4:12 p.m.: A man who was allegedly intoxicated was found by police to be passed out in the street in the area of Palomino and Roan drives. He was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp, but was released some time later that day, according to the jail website.

5:02 p.m.: Two bullet casings were reportedly found in a bag of clothing donated to Goodwill, 2626 N. Tracy Blvd. The two casings — one a 9mm — were disposed of at the business.

5:18 p.m.: An unidentified person was arrested for allegedly shoplifting at Macy’s, 3400 Naglee Road.

5:47 p.m.: An illegal fire in the backyard of a residence on the first block of West 11th Street was reported.

7:19 p.m.: A man was seen walking east on Mathews Road and the Interstate 5 overpass wearing a hospital gown. The man was allegedly walking with an IV bag and stand attached to a blood pressure monitor. The call was turned over to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.

7:36 p.m.: An explosion reported on the 2900 block of Alene Avenue was discovered by police to be several people experimenting with dry ice in 2-liter bottles. Police warned the undisclosed number of people about the dangers of setting of such devices.

Saturday

1:02 a.m.: A warning was issued by police for a loud party on the 1500 block of Badger Way.

7:15 a.m.: Police responded to the 1300 block of Sentinel Drive where a residence was reportedly burglarized. The caller found jewelry scattered on the sidewalk in front of the home.

9:16 a.m.: Graffiti was reported on a drainage pipe at Thoming Park, 1000 Cambridge Place.

10:48 a.m.: Graffiti was found on the bathroom walls in Larsen Park, 1401 S. Central. Ave.

1:50 p.m.: Police arrested a 27-year-old man on the 1800 block of East Street for three outstanding warrants.

4:15 p.m.: A possible code enforcement violation was reported at a vacant house on the 800 block of Palm Circle where an alleged illegal dump was occurring.

6:30 p.m.: A 21-year-old was arrested at Safeway, 1801 W. 11th St., for allegedly shoplifting more than $1,000 worth of gift cards.

9:33 p.m.: Gunshots reported in the area of the 1400 block of Heatherfield Way were actually fireworks being discharged. Police cleared the scene without taking a report.

9:57 p.m.: A resident on the 3200 block of Ormonde Court reported being scared after a rock was thrown at her window. Police were unable to locate anybody.

11:12 p.m.: Police issued a warning for a loud party on the 1700 block of Bayberry Lane.

Friday

4:40 a.m.: Police arrested a 27-year-old man on the 400 block of West Grant Line Road for an unknown outstanding warrant after the man was found yelling at people.

8:46 a.m.: A 24-year-old man was arrested on the 500 block of West Clover Road for outstanding warrants from the Stockton Police Department. Tracy police were called when the man was allegedly seen looking in vehicles parked on West Clover Road.

2:41 p.m.: Police found two men drinking alcohol in the parking lot of Villalovoz Elementary School, 1550 Cypress Drive. Police cited one man for having an outstanding warrant from the Gilroy Police Department.

3:23 p.m.: A 46-year-old woman was arrested during a pedestrian stop in the area of Central Avenue and Second Street. Police discovered she had two outstanding warrants for unknown charges.

4:55 p.m.: The westbound portion of Valpico Road was closed near Sycamore Parkway for about an hour when a bicyclist was apparently struck by a vehicle. Medical attention was given to the bicyclist before the cyclist was taken home by police.

4:58 p.m.: A man was seen sharpening a knife outside Golden Corral, 2850 W. Grant Line Road. When police arrived, the man was gone, but they located a bicycle behind the business that was reported stolen. The bike was returned to its owner who was working at a nearby business.

7:34 p.m.: Police were unable to locate two minors who were knocking on doors on the 1700 block of Lincoln Boulevard. The caller was concerned that the males were casing the neighborhood.
