Millennium High sent seven players from its 2011 football team who helped carry the North to a 35-17 win over the South in the Small Schools All Star Football Game on Saturday, July 14, at Big Valley Christian High School in Modesto.

Falcons quarterback Jamani Woods, who will play football in the fall at NCAA Division III La Verne College in Southern California, led the North team to an early 21-0 lead.

Woods threw a 6-yard pass to Jarrod Kennedy of Calaveras High in the first quarter and then the Falcons’ Sam Fleury scored the North’s second touchdown on a 2-yard run during first quarter.

The South cut the North’s lead to 21-17 at the half, but the North scored two more touchdowns in the third quarter, including a 3-yard run by Woods. Millennium kicker Estevan Castellon went five-for-five on point-after attempts.

Other Falcons players on the North team roster included Nuronn King, Christian Espinosa, Drew Carroll and A.J. Takata.

Tanner Carroll was invited but was unable to play because of a work commitment. All were seniors on the 2011 Falcon team and have graduated.

Millennium coach Jayson Dias also served as the North’s head coach for the game.
