John B. Boehmer

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, July 17, for John B. Boehmer, 83, a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, who died Tuesday, July 10, in Stockton.

Mr. Boehmer was born June 12, 1929, in Rich Fountain, Mo., and had lived more than 50 years in the San Joaquin Valley. A U.S. Navy veteran, he drove trucks for more than 20 years for companies including Fleming Foods and United Grocers.

Survivors include four stepchildren, Kathy Kennedy, Mary Thomas, Rick Bowen and Jim Bowen; five siblings, Catherine Boillot of Camdenton, Mo., George Boehmer of Frankfurt, Germany, and Geraldine Neeley, Lillian Boehmer and Bernadette Lootens, all of Jefferson City, Mo.; two stepgrandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Alice Boehmer; parents, Adolph and Cecilia Kloeppel Boehmer; and two brothers, Francis and Alex Boehmer.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, at St. Bernard’s, 163 W. Eaton Ave. Visitation will be observed beginning at 4 p.m. Monday, July 16, at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. Mr. Boehmer will be buried privately in Tracy Cemetery alongside his wife. An online guest book can be viewed at www.frymemorialchapel.com.
