Mountain House residents welcomed the windy weather as they took advantage of the zephyrs to fly kites at the Mountain House Community Service Districts 6th annual kite festival at Central Community Park on Saturday, June 9.

Thousands were expected to visit the windswept park and take a try and flying kites in the tricky winds.

The day began in the morning with a children’s ¼ and ½ mile runs. A five- and 10-kilometer fun runs were help after the children’s’ races.

The Berkeley Kite wranglers returned with their large-scale kite displays along with the AirZone kite team flying precision aerobatic displays with their kites.

Musical entertainment, food and vendors rounded out the day for visitors
