Tracy police received 209 calls for service Wednesday, June 6. The following is a sample of those calls.
2:19 a.m.: A woman in a wheelchair was found in the road by the California Highway Patrol. The woman’s family, on the 600 block of D Street, reported she lives in Stockton and they were not sure how she got to Tracy.
6:51 a.m.: A caller reported two pit bulls living in an abandoned house on Third Street. The caller said they run loose during the daytime. Police said they would conduct extra patrols to try and find the dogs.
8:10 a.m.: A store clerk said a man begging for money and cigarettes tried to put beer into his backpack at the Chevron, 2615 W. Grant Line Road. He was gone before police arrived.
11:20 a.m.: A woman on the 300 block of West Clover Road told police she cashed a check for $2,370 from Liberty Foods that her bank said was fake or altered. Police are investigating.
12:29 p.m.: Customers outside Community Banks, 1003 N. Central Ave., were being harassed by a man who refused to move. Police issued him a warning.
1:07 p.m.: A caller reported someone broke into a shed and stole clothing and other items on the 2900 block of North MacArthur Drive. Police are investigating.
1:24 p.m.: A caller reported someone stole his truck tailgate on the 1500 block of Franklin Avenue.
2:44 p.m.: A woman complained her neighbor sprays her dogs with a hose when they bark on the 1900 block of Woodcrest Court.
2:56 p.m.: Police are investigating a possible burglary on the 1600 block of Swarthout Court. Someone saw a man break a window to a house and go inside, but there were no details in the dispatch records to indicate a crime was committed.
3:06 p.m.: A horse in a field near MacArthur Drive and Interstate 205 was reportedly malnourished and neglected, but police reported city and county animal control already contacted the owner. The owner reportedly put the animal under a veterinarian’s care.
4:05 p.m.: A caller reported a home burglarized on the 500 block of West Emerson Avenue. The owner said she got home and found the screen off the back window. Police are investigating.
5:35 p.m.: A caller reported children were throwing rocks into her yard behind the Hirsch School playground, 1280 Dove Drive. She said it occurs every time they have basketball practice on the playground. Police advised the children.
7:29 p.m.: A resident on the 3100 block of Ormonde Street thought his Spanish-speaking neighbor threatened him. He said he thought she said a threat based on her facial expressions and noted that there had been vehicle vandalisms in the area. Police talked to the woman, who said she told the original caller to stop putting raw chicken on her property and vandalizing her vehicle.
8:17 p.m.: Police received several calls for gunshots on the 1900 block of Calaveras Court. Police found it was fireworks.
10:24 p.m.: Police arrested a 46-year-old man on suspicion of drunken driving following a traffic stop near the 200 block of West 11th Street.
10:50 p.m.: Police broke up a party on the 100 block of Elizabeth Court after a caller reported underage drinkers and marijuana use. The caller said it was the second party there in two nights. Police broke up the party and contacted the parents.
