Mall security reportedly used pepper spray on the aggressors, and an ambulance was called. An off-duty highway patrolman described the incident as a gang fight.
The fight was broken up quickly, according to mall General Manager Mike Donaghy, and no property or people at the mall were injured.
Police are investigating.
Tracy police received 511 calls for service Friday, June 1, through Sunday, June 3. The following is a sample of those calls.
Sunday
12:50 a.m.: Police received calls for several loud parties, and warnings were issued on the 300 block of Bastille Court, 100 block of Carmel Way and the 100 block of Solomon Court.
1:07 a.m.: Police arrested a 36-year-old man for an outstanding warrant for being drunk in public on the 100 block of Hawthorne Drive.
3:08 a.m.: A caller reported a man lying on his lawn and others walking around the 1500 block of Deer Run Lane. Police checked and found it was a party breaking up on Alden Glen Drive.
5:08 a.m.: A caller said someone broke into his car on the 2700 block of Atlantic Drive.
8:42 a.m.: Police arrested a juvenile for a traffic violation following a traffic stop near 10th Street and Roosevelt Avenue. He was booked into juvenile hall in French Camp.
10:02 a.m.: A business clerk reported that someone vandalized a window at Super Lube, 1170 Lincoln Blvd.
11:08 a.m.: Police were called after a driver hit a power pole on Beverly Place, near Parker Avenue. The pole was split in half, and the electric company was called to replace it.
7:29 p.m.: Someone knocked down a portion of a man’s front fence on the 2900 block of North MacArthur Drive. The caller suspected his neighbor.
10 p.m.: A hospital official called to report a man came in and told them he was attacked by eight to 10 men at the Tracy Sports Complex, 955 Crossroads Drive. He said the people smashed his head into a car window and broke the window. Police are investigating.
10:25 p.m.: A fire extinguisher was sprayed inside a laundry room on the 100 block of West Carlton Way.
Saturday
12:02 a.m.: Police arrested a 38-year-old man on a drug-related charge following a traffic stop near Chester Drive and Lowell Avenue.
12:08 a.m.: Police were called to a house on the 200 block of East Whittier Avenue for a backyard fire. Police questioned the homeowner about the origin of the fire, and determined the blaze was contained to a fire pit.
12:17 a.m.: Police issued a warning to a resident on the 1200 block of Hepburn Street after receiving several calls for gunshots and fireworks. It was found the cause of the noise was fireworks.
1:22 a.m.: Someone drove by a woman’s house, she said, with the intention to shoot at it on the 1200 block of Brighton Drive. She said her son once claimed to be a Norteño and had an argument with the people in the car that drove by. She said her son didn’t know the individuals involved. At 1:35 a.m., the woman called again to report her son was riding his bicycle in the area of Alden Park when some teens threw ice at him from a car.
9:17 a.m.: Medicine was reported missing by a clerk at Heritage Place, 355 W. Grant Line Road. The clerk told police an employee has been placed on administrative leave, pending the outcome of an investigation.
10:55 a.m.: A resident called to report a snake, possibly poisonous, inside his house on the 400 block of Gonzalez Street. Animal control impounded the snake.
11:31 a.m.: A resident on the 1100 block of Mongomery Lane reported people going in and out of a former marijuana grow house that is posted “no occupancy.” Police found it was a cleaning crew.
12:39 a.m.: Someone reportedly vandalized the bus stop glass near Mi Pueblo market at Tracy Boulevard and Clover Road.
12:59 p.m.: An escaped parakeet set off a burglar alarm at a house on the 1400 block of East Street.
2:42 p.m.: A clerk at Winco, 2850 Pavilion Parkway, reported a man in a pickup threatened a customer with a knife. He said the customer told him he was backing out of his space and he didn’t see the pickup doing the same. He said the man in the pickup got out and started waving the knife, threatening to cut the other man’s arm. Police are investigating.
4:38 p.m.: Police arrested a 44-year-old woman on suspicion of a hit-and-run near Buthmann Avenue and Clover Road. The arrest occurred after a caller reported his girlfriend hit his car with hers following an argument.
6:10 p.m.: Police helped close the road after a caller reported a 70-foot branch had fallen on the 200 block of Emerson Avenue.
6:53 p.m.: A caller reported his 1993 Honda Accord missing from Walgreens, 1830 W. 11th St. He said he went into the store for about an hour and returned to the lot to find if was gone.
7:26 p.m.: Police arrested a 53-year-old man on suspicion of being drunk in public on the 500 block of Gonzalez Street.
10:03 p.m.: Police issued a warning for a loud party on the 500 block of West Carlton Way. The warning came after a resident reported the party and noted that the occupants may have a police scanner, because she could hear police and fire calls. Police did not air the call over their radios.
10:21 p.m.: Police arrested a 19-year-old man for an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop near the 2300 block of East Street.
11:29 p.m.: Police received calls for loud parties across the city, including the 100 block of Renown Drive, 300 block of Quail Run Circle, 100 block of East 10th Street, and 1800 block of Calaveras Lane.
11:34 p.m.: A caller reported he was hit in the head by teens attending a party in the area of Glanbriar and Quail Run circles. He said he confronted the teens about them playing chicken with passing cars and they hit him. He said he didn’t want to press charges, but he did want the party checked out. Police talked to the homeowner, and they advised that the party was crashed by several people. The area cleared of teenagers.
Friday
12:33 a.m.: A woman reported her belongings missing from her garage on the 300 block of Mount Oso Avenue. She said she thought the garage door might have been left unlocked. Police are investigating.
12:40 a.m.: Police arrested a 39-year-old woman on suspicion of domestic violence in central Tracy. The arrest occurred after a woman called to report she got a distress call from her sister. Police found the woman’s husband had scratches on his stomach and elbow.
6:48 a.m.: A woman told police someone dumped a compost bin on her front door and poured something on the front door on the 1900 block of Kristoff Court. Police checked and found egg and syrup on the door.
9:14 a.m.: A resident requested extra police patrols after he found someone threw ripped magazine pieces on his front lawn on the 500 block of Tennis Lane. He said the pieces showed a gun and bullets.
9:19 a.m.: A woman on the 300 block of Violet Place reported a scam. She said a man on the phone said he was her grandson and he needed money after breaking his arm in Guatemala. She told him she would wire him the money, and he said he would call her back with information. She said she talked to her grandson and found he did not call her before she sent the money.
4:07 p.m.: A 1991 Toyota Camry was reported stolen on the 2900 block of North Tracy Boulevard. He said the car contained clothing from a security business. Police are investigating.
4:29 p.m.: A caller reported his wife’s purse was missing from their car at Walmart, 3010 W. Grant Line Road. Police are investigating.
4:56 p.m.: Police arrested a 29-year-old man for suspicion of petty theft at Winco, 2850 Pavilion Parkway. The arrest occurred after a store clerk reported a man tried to take $50 worth of items from the store. He was booked into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.
6:16 p.m.: Manteca police advised Tracy authorities that they recovered stolen car after someone traded it into a dealership as a down payment on another car. Police are investigating.
11:46 p.m.: A motor home was broken into on the 1600 block of Springhill Court.
