Some students threw up their mortar boards while others stood to cheer and do a quick dance as the Tracy High School class of 2012 was officially confirmed Saturday, June 2.

The school's 97th graduation commencement ceremony began at 8:30 a.m. for the 432 graduating seniors receiving diplomas on Peter B. Kyne Field at Wayne Schneider Stadium.

Students Marcela Oceguera and Anthony Ver each delivered speeches during the ceremony, with Oceguera's address being given in Spanish.

Karen Hoi and Christopher Bacchetti were announced as winners of the Efficiency Award which recognizes the most accomplished female and male senior.

For the full graduation story, read the Friday, June 8 edition of the Tracy Press.
