The man told police he was pistol whipped in the head and robbed of $5,000.
Tracy Police Department Lt. Greg Farmanian reported cops were looking for four men, some who fled in a car and others who ran away.
According to the police log, two of the alleged attackers were described as black, and between 18 and 20 years old — one of the two was wearing a white hat under a green hooded sweatshirt and black shorts, while the other man was seen wearing a green hat with an orange shirt and tan pants. No description was available for the other two men sought by police.
The victim was treated and released from a local hospital for his injuries. The incident is under investigation by detectives.
Tracy police received 172 calls for service Thursday, May 31. The following is a sample of those calls.
6:52 a.m.: A caller said someone broke the window on his father’s car on the 1900 block of Golden Leaf Lane.
7:21 a.m.: Police arrested a 62-year-old man for an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop near Lincoln Boulevard and Lowell Avenue. He was booked into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.
9:30 a.m.: Police were told to be on the lookout for two men who escaped the county sheriff’s honor farm in French Camp. One escapee was in jail for theft, and the other for false imprisonment.
10:05 a.m.: A woman told police she scared a man out of her backyard on the 1200 block of Lonna Way. She said she saw the man hiding after she heard a noise in her bushes. She said he had jumped her fence and that he jumped back over the fence and left on a bicycle after she yelled at him. She also told police she had been the victim of a recent home burglary. Police found a suitcase in the area where the man was hiding. It was booked as found property.
11:49 a.m.: A bank employee reported a man from a Central Avenue business entered Community Banks, 1003 N. Central Ave., and yelled because employees couldn’t make change for him. The caller wanted to speak to an officer.
4:25 p.m.: A store clerk found a package at Mail & More, 2181 N. Tracy Blvd., that contained marijuana.
5:58 p.m.: Police arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of battery at Save Mart, 2005 N. Tracy Blvd. The arrest occurred after a caller reported the man took $123.07 of food from the supermarket. The suspect was booked into county jail.
6:20 p.m.: A caller reported a woman drove her car into a building on the 500 block of East 11th Street. He told police the woman said her brakes gave out. Police are investigating.
6:42 p.m.: A store clerk said a woman hit an employee at Sally Beauty Supply, 1240 W. 11th St.. Police are investigating.
9:25 p.m.: A caller reported his turtle escaped his house, and now he thinks his neighbor has it on the 1700 block of Bayberry Lane. He said the neighbor refused to give it back.
10:35 p.m.: A caller reported hearing two gunshots at Dr. Powers Park, 900 W. Lowell Ave. Police were unable to locate any evidence of a shooting.
10:58 p.m.: A caller reported a group of teens partying in the yard of a vacant house on the 300 block of Glenbriar Circle. Police found no one in the yard.
11:24 p.m.: A caller on the 400 block of West Ninth Street reported a man on a bicycle was riding around with a crowbar or hammer. He said the man appeared to be snooping around and up to no good. Police were unable to find him.
