Softball: West makes top four in Division I

West High’s softball team secured a spot in the top-four at the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoff bracket with a pair of wins on Saturday, May 19, at the Sacramento Softball Complex.

The Wolf Pack (18-11, 8-2 Tri-City Athletic League) won the opening game of the tournament 5-3 over Pleasant Grove (17-10, 7-3 Delta River League) of Elk Grove on Saturday, May 19.

The win advanced the Wolf Pack to the double-elimination portion of the bracket where they beat Davis Senior High (20-6, 9-1 Delta Valley Conference) of Davis, 9-1 Saturday afternoon. Game details were not available.

The Wolf Pack now face the Rams (25-4, 9-1 TCAL) of St. Mary’s High from Stockton at 5 p.m. Monday, May 21, in Sacramento, for a chance to move to Tuesday’s semifinal game.
