A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 22, for Ventura Juan Garza, 68, of Tracy, who died Tuesday, May 15.

Born Nov. 7, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas, Mr. Garza, 68, worked as a handyman for Kenko Utilities and Laura Scudders.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Frances Garza of Tracy; two sons, Benny Garza and Michael Garza, both of Tracy; three siblings, Juan Garza of Tracy and Elva Asquier and Lidia Lopez, both of Stockton; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Pedro and Ramona Garza; and a brother, Pedro Garza Jr.

Tuesday’s Mass will begin at 10 a.m. at St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, 1601 Imperial Ave., in Modesto. A vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Monday at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., following visitation from 1 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Messages for the family can be added to an online guest book at www.frymemorialchapel.com.
