Services are planned Friday, May 18, at the First Presbyterian Church for Marjorie K. Hanson, 95, a Tracy-area resident for 73 years who died May 10 at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital.

She was born Dec. 14, 1916.

A native of Nebraska, she moved to Tracy in 1938. Her husband, the late Robert C. Hanson, farmed in the Carbona area, and the family home has been on Banta Road.

Mrs. Hanson was secretary at Jefferson School for 15 years before retiring in 1979.

She was the oldest active member of the Tracy Woman’s Club and had been a 4-H sewing adult leader for 25 years and a 4-H community leader for five years. She was a member of the Tracy Bridge Club, founded in 1939, and the Monday Night Bridge Club, Jefferson School Mothers Club, Tracy Friends of the Library and several book clubs.

Survivors include a son, Richard C. “Rick” Hanson, and his wife, Marcia “Liz,” of Tracy; a daughter, Meredith Davis of Manteca; a brother, Robert Krogh, and his wife, Joan, of Blair, Neb.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and cousins Leta Rockwell and George Barkley.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 52 years, Robert C. Hanson; and three sisters, Marian Shaw, Betty Jannsen and Ruth Krogh.

Friday’s services will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 101 Berverdor Ave., following visitation from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Tracy Cemetery, 600 E. Schulte Road.
