The Millennium softball team gets a shot at a division title after beating Sacramento Adventist of Carmichael, 17-3, on Wednesday, May 16, at the Lodi Softball Complex.

The Falcons (12-4 overall, 5-1 Central California Athletic Alliance) started slow at the plate, but rallied for five runs in the second inning and six more in the third on the way to the win.

Melissa Vierra pitched all five innings, allowed seven hits and struck out three batters. She also led on offense with three hits and she batted in three runs. Gabrielle Ramirez, Riquel Riveira and Jaylyn Gutierrez each had two hits and an RBI, and Breana Reyes had a hit and an RBI.

Millennium heads to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division VII championship game at Arnaiz Fields in Stockton on Saturday, May 19, against the Eagles of Elliot Christian High from Lodi.

It’s a familiar foe for Millennium.

The two CCAA foes split the league title this year, and the Falcons are out to make up for last year’s loss to the Eagles in the Division VII championship game.
