Joseph ‘Joe’ Hansen

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, May 10, in Lodi for Joseph “Joe” Hansen, 50, a former Tracy resident and Lodi fire captain.

He died May 4 in a motorcycle accident near Pioneer in Amador County.

Born Sept. 17, 1961, in Walnut Creek, he grew up in Tracy and graduated in 1980 from Tracy High School. He was a Lodi firefighter for 25 years.

Capt. Hansen is survived by his wife of nearly 28 years, Natalie Hansen of Lodi; a son, Alex Hansen; his mother, Juanita “Montie” Hansen; and two sisters, Caroline Nobach and Catherine Rush.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred “Bud” Hansen.

Thursday’s services were held at the First Baptist Church in Lodi. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home made arrangements.

The family prefers memorial contributions in Capt. Hansen’s name to the Firefighter Burn Institute, 3101 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95820.
