The Jaguar qualifiers finished among the top three athletes or relay teams in their events at the Valley Oak League meet on Saturday, May 5, at Sierra High in Manteca.
Chloe Jenkins led the way for Kimball with first-place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles (16.31 seconds) and 300-meter hurdles (46.50) — both of which times are new Kimball records.
Jaleyah Douglass grabbed first-place in the discus throw (117 feet, 2 inches) and also qualified in the shot put with a second-place throw (34-7 ½). Francesca Loayza qualified in the distance running events, placing second in both the 1600 meters (5:32.72) and the 3200 meters (12:33.52).

Kimball will also send its two varsity girls relay teams among its 11 athletes, which both took third place at the VOL meet to qualify. McClain, Jenkins, Douglass and Zaniah Bradshaw ran the 4x100 meters (52.80) and Jenkins, Bradshaw, Castro and Kayla Franklin ran the 4x400-meter relay (4:26.60).
The top athlete among Kimball’s varsity boys was Derek Van de Streek, who won the triple jump with a mark of 41-10.50. Three more athletes who didn’t qualify for the Division IV meet did establish new school records: Kamryn Van Allen, varsity boys pole vault (12-6); Amber Moody, varsity girls 200 meters (27.56); and Damon Jackson, boys 200 meters (23.37).
Kimball’s freshman-sophomore teams also competed at the VOL meet, but will not move on to the Division IV meet.

The outcome of the VOL meet doesn’t affect team standings, and Kimball’s girls finished the VOL season with a 6-1 record in league dual meets and in second place behind Oakdale. Kimball’s boys finished the VOL season at 5-2 and tied with Oakdale for second place, behind league champion Manteca.
Kimball’s frosh-soph girls finished the season tied for first with a 6-1 record, their only loss to East Union, and the frosh-soph boys were tied for second with a 4-3 record and losses to Oakdale, Sonora and East Union.
