Tracy’s 8-0-2 San Joaquin Athletic Association record is the first undefeated league season in the 20-year coaching tenure of Joe Perry. The last several years, Perry’s son, Nate has served as an assistant coach. Tracy finished the season 17-2-2 overall.
Brett Scheckla scored Tracy’s first goal on an assist from Bria Outland, Cailie Chayrez scored on an assist from Kellie Piazza, and Outland scored on a pass from Nicole Gasior to make it a 3-0 game at the half. Taylor Roach scored for Tracy late in the second half on a pass from Chayrez.
Next up for Tracy is the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoffs, where the Bulldogs will face either Stagg of Stockton or Grace Davis of Modesto.
Tracy’s usual playoff nemesis St. Mary’s of Stockton is in the lower half of the playoff bracket, so the Bulldogs and Rams wouldn’t face each other until the Division I championship game on Saturday, May 19.
