Rotary awards scholarships

The Tracy Rotary Club has awarded a total of $21,500 in scholarships to 24 graduating seniors from five high schools in Tracy.

The scholarships, ranging in value from $500 to $2,000, were presented during a club luncheon meeting at noon Tuesday, May 1, at the Platinum Conference Center in the Opera House building.

Leon Churchill, club president, and Dr. Daisy Jones, scholarship chair, made the presentations.

Winners are:

• Kimball High School: Brett Williams and Beau Lawrence.

• Millennium High School: Kendra Sin, Nataly Solis, Valeria Salamanca, Monique Mendez, Alejandra Manriquez, Kaitlyn Forsstrom-Adams, Kenneth Lipich and Mikayla Balogh.

• Stein High School: Rhianna Lynn Schoon.

• Tracy High School: Benjamin Bassett, Alejandra Gil, Renata Guzman, Lisa Machelle Thompson, Viridiana Inguanzo and Upinderpreet Kaur Gill.

• West High School: Brittini Ribelin, Jennifer Marie Martinez, Cindy Leigh Quenery, Alexander Ekwueme, Chantal Portillo, Manjap Singh and Daniel Austin.

Funds for the scholarships are generated through the Tracy Rotary Club’s annual crab dinner, other fundraising events and contributions by individual members.
