Rep. Jeff Denham, Supervisor Leroy Ornellas, Mayor Brent Ives and councilmen Bob Elliott and Mike Maciel addressed the group, which club members described as the largest in the tea’s five years.
Other speakers were Garry Duncan, chairman of the Republican Party of San Joaquin; Dolores Cooper, candidate for Assembly District 13; and Nancy Young, Tracy City Council candidate.
Alma Morley, the local club’s president, welcomed the group and said she was pleased by the turnout.
Among the attendees, who had traveled from as far as Fresno, was Carol Hadley, president of California Republican Women Federated.

Woman’s club to host Cinco de Mayo bash
Members of GWF Tracy Woman’s Club will host a Cinco de Mayo-themed evening of wine tasting, a raffle and dancing Saturday, March 5.
The club will host the event, a fundraiser for local nonprofits, at La Bonne Vie Cellars, 29181 S. Lehman Road.
For $20, attendees will receive a wine glass, three tastings and refreshments. Dave “the DJ” Tillman will provide music for dancing.

YLI to meet Friday
Members of the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church YLI will begin their regular meeting at 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 11, in the small hall at the church, 163 W. Eaton Ave.
The group will also host the district conference at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will follow.

Photographers focus on water
Tracy Camera Club will gather at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, to share members’ photos on the monthly theme, “Water.” The rotating category is “Journalism.”
Visitors and new members are welcome to participate. Entries will be judged in three categories based on skill level.
