Tracy police received 168 calls for service Tuesday, May 1. The following is a sample of those calls.
12:12 a.m.: A woman called police to try and get her former husband to stop calling her on the 400 block of Rockingham Way. Police talked to him, and he agreed to stop, but the woman called police again and said the behavior continued. When police contacted him a second time, the man sounded inebriated and again agreed to stop.
3:04 a.m.: A woman armed with a bat on the 100 block of Roosevelt Avenue said someone was on her roof and possibly trying to steal her satellite dish. Police checked and found no signs of anyone on the roof.
3:23 p.m.: A business clerk reported an employee’s lunch box smelled of drugs at Taylor Farms, 1820 N. MacArthur Drive. He called back and told police they no longer needed assistance.
5:04 p.m.: Two men begging for money near Grant Line Road and Tracy Boulevard were issued a warning to move.
5:33 p.m.: A high school baseball coach called police to report a children’s soccer coach refused to leave the field at Tracy Ball Park, 2001 Bessie Ave. He said he was afraid the children would get hurt while the baseball players were there and that he was the one with a permit for the field.
5:52 p.m.: A resident on the 1400 block of Renown Drive reported two teenage boys were trying to start a fire in a nearby field. They were gone before police arrived.
6:18 p.m.: A caller reported 30 teens in a fight at Zanussi Park at 1500 Promenade Circle. They ran away before police arrived.
7:13 p.m.: A woman called about her 9-month-old baby choking on the 700 block of Foxwood Drive. She said the baby had been crawling around and put something in her mouth. Police advised her, and a medical dispatcher said there was a partial airway obstruction. An ambulance was called to the house.
9:01 p.m.: A woman on the 1200 block of Meadow Lane told police a man answered her house phone and she has no male relative living there. She said she went home and it didn’t appear anyone had broken in, but she was missing some credit cards. Police found there was no burglary, and that it was a random mix-up of the phone service.
9:11 p.m.: A caller reported a woman was knocked down by a man on the 100 block of West Beverly Place. The caller said he saw three men fighting. The woman told police that she tripped, and her boyfriend was trying to keep their roommates from fighting. No one at the house wanted to press charges.
9:26 p.m.: Two men at Rusty’s bar, 320 W. Grant Line Road, told police they were beaten by three other men when they went outside to smoke. They said they had been drinking inside, and when they went out the three men said “Norte” and jumped them. Police are investigating.
11:52 p.m.: Police arrested a 31-year-old man for drug-related charges on the 2900 block of Buthmann Avenue following a pedestrian stop.
