According to California Highway Patrol public information officer Adam Shelton, Levi Wolfe of Tracy was heading east on West Schulte Road in a GMC Sierra pickup shortly after 6 p.m. when he neared the Gateway Boulevard intersection, which is west of the city near the Safeway distribution center.
Shelton said a tractor-trailer had slowed to make a turn at the intersection, and Wolfe crashed into the rear of the truck, tearing the front of the pickup apart and trapping Wolfe inside.
Tracy Fire Department crews cut Wolfe free of the wreckage and closed both directions of traffic on West Schulte Road so a helicopter could land and transport Wolfe to to an area hospital.
Shelton did not release where Wolfe was flown, but said his injuries, including a broken nose, were moderate but not life-threatening.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured in the crash

Everyone needs to remember they are operating a killing machine and be careful! Including myself.
