A caller told police that several people in a white car threw a glass bottle and other items out of the vehicle while driving behind the caller’s car near MacArthur Drive and Valpico Road.
Police located the vehicle and a chase with speeds approaching 60 mph ensued on Monte Diablo Avenue toward Central Avenue. Cops would lose sight of the vehicle, until they located it abandoned at the west end of Monte Diablo Court. A search of the area using a police dog was unsuccessful.
Tracy police received 161 calls for service Monday, April 30. The following is a sample of those reports.
2:46 a.m.: Police were alerted to a Ford SUV seen swerving on Schulte Road near Tracy Boulevard. The vehicle was stopped by police, and the driver arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
7:55 a.m.: Two mountain bikes were turned in to police after they were found at the El Pescadero Skate Park, 250 W. Kavanagh Ave.
9:02 a.m.: A car was towed from the parking lot of Pete’s Liquors, 202 W. 11th St., because the driver had a suspended license.
9:44 a.m.: Police investigated a report of two men looking into the windows of businesses on the 1000 block of Central Avenue. No crime was committed, but police filled out at least one field identification card to document one of the men.
12:09 p.m.: Garbage was dumped illegally behind the Rite Aid at 599 E. Valpico Road.
1:22 p.m.: Keys were reported locked inside of a silver Camaro on the 100 block of East 10th Street, and police helped open the car.
1:34 p.m.: A man who was stopped by police at Larch Road and Tracy Boulevard was arrested and taken to San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp on suspicion of possessing a loaded firearm.
3:38 p.m.: Graffiti was reported on the 2700 block of Schofield Lane.
3:43 p.m.: More than $500 of merchandise, including pool equipment, was reported stolen from Big Lots, 2681 N. Tracy Blvd.
4:06 p.m.: A minor neck injury was reported after a car crash in front of Kimball High School, 3200 Jaguar Run.
5:49 p.m.: Suspected shoplifting was stopped at Walmart, 3010 W. Grant Line Road.
6:12 p.m.: A man was arrested on the 300 block of Clover Road. The caller said he had expressed romantic interest in her daughter as well as another girl on that street, and said he had parked directly in front of her house and was staring at it. She told police about other unwanted advances he had made. No details were available about the nature of the arrest.
6:37 p.m.: An arrest was made after a pharmacist at Walgreens, 2810 S. Tracy Blvd., reported receiving a fake prescription.
8:03 p.m.: Vandalism was reportedly committed on the 1800 block of Parker Avenue. A caller said his truck was hit by a rock, the latest of a string of incidents the past month that included his vehicle being spray-painted two weeks ago.
11:35 p.m.: Two males were arrested at Tracy Press Park, 700 Weeping Willow Lane, for being in the park after dark. One juvenile was dropped off to his parents, and the other was booked into county jail.
