Leroy Ornellas, now serving on the San Joaquin County Board of Super-visors, and Bill Berryhill, a member of the state Assembly, have agreed to answer questions from the public at a forum in the Kimball High School theater.
Both Republicans are seeking the 5th Senate District seat, which represents all of San Joaquin County. They are up against Democrat Cathleen Galgiani in the June 5 primary, with the top two vote-getters moving on to the November general election.
Galgiani has not committed to the forum, the second of a series of Press-hosted debates planned for the 2012 election season.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. May 14, a Monday, at the Kimball High performing arts center, which is on the west side of the campus at 3200 Jaguar Run, off Lammers Road south of 11th Street.
The forum will begin at 7 p.m. and last about an hour and a half.
Questions can be submitted on index cards at the event or via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
