Kimball High’s freshmen hosted East Union on Monday, April 16, taking an 8-4 win on the strength of its starting pitching and a big performance from Arielle Early.
Early struck for two singles, two RBIs, three runs and four stolen bases.
She was complemented by Tahnee Trew, who struck out seven Lancers batters while yielding one earned run and seven walks over six innings.
Freshmen: Ripon 8, Tracy 5
A big fourth inning by Ripon sunk Tracy on Monday, April 16, at the Tracy Sports Complex.
Tied 4-4 going into the top of the fourth frame, Ripon rallied for four runs. Though Tracy scored once more in the game, the Bulldogs were too far behind to catch up, dropping to 9-2-1 for the season.
Tracy starting pitcher Sienna Rubio gave up eight hits over four innings for the loss, and reliever Leana Martinez gave up one hit over two innings.
On offense, Alison Fort had two hits and two stolen bases; Madison Ledda doubled and batted in two runs; Martinez doubled and batted in a run; and Brooke Ornellas, Jennifer Diaz, Jillian Bessette and Mikayla Saint all had hits.
