Baseball: Tracy frosh take extra-inning win

Freshmen: Tracy 6, Lincoln 4

The Bulldogs and Trojans freshman baseball teams fought to a tie in a Monday, April 16, game at Lincoln High, putting the game into extra innings.

Tracy (12-2 overall) took the lead in the top of the ninth when Taylor Mellick and Brandon Russell batted in runs.

Starting pitcher Russell allowed two hits, six walks and three runs over four innings and struck out four before giving way to Mellick for one inning. Jacob Alvarado tossed the final four innings for the win, giving up two hits, six walks and a run while striking out five.

Michael Brown tripled and singled for the Bulldogs, Russell had two hits, and Alvarado also had a hit.
