The West High soccer team (0-10-2, 0-2-2 TCAL) played strong against the visiting Edison High Vikings on Thursday, April 12, in West’s Steve Lopez Stadium, but the Wolf Pack still fell short of the win.
The teams played a scoreless game for the first half but Edison scored about 10 minutes into the second half. West scored 15 minutes later when senior defender Sahar Latifi send a free kick right over the head of the Edison goalie tie the game 1-1.
West still is still after its first win, but players see where they can take the advantage over other teams, as long as they can start game strong and stay consistent.
“We would have done better if everyone had spread out,” Latifi said. “In the second half we came through. Our team is getting better and better as the season goes.”
West’s freshman-sophomore team tied Edison 2-2, and Sarah Latifi scored both of the Pack’s goals. It puts them at 5-3-3 and 1-1-2 in the TCAL.
