Maryanne Farris and Nicholas Riaz Abelar of Tracy will celebrate their marriage May 6, 2012, at Vintage Gardens in Modesto.

Nick proposed to Maryanne during a starlit visit to the Dell’Osso Family Farm pumpkin maze on Oct. 17, 2011. The couple announced their engagement to immediate family members by phone and then posted it on Facebook.

Both Maryanne and Nick graduated from Tracy High School in 2000.

The bride-to-be, daughter of Janice and Edward Farris of Tracy, works as a system administrator at Fire2Wire Internet service provider. She earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from California State University, Stanislaus, in 2005. She is the sister of Bonnie Farris of Tracy and granddaughter of Alma and Otis Farris of Livermore and Yvonne Cruff of San Lorenzo.

The future groom, son of Mary Abelar of Tracy, is a produce clerk for Save Mart Supermarkets. He is attending Golden State College of Court Reporting & Captioning in Dublin. He is the brother of Christina Marquez of Manteca and Dee Dee Martin of Tracy and grandson of the late Juan and Petra Abelar of Tracy.

The best man and maid of honor will be Joshua Thorpe and Bonnie Farris, accompanied by groomsmen Anthony Martinez and George Rico and bridesmaids Kerstin Spiker and Kiran Pandher. Luke Martin will be an usher, and Natalie Martin will be guest book attendant.

After the wedding, the couple will honeymoon in Napa and Monterey and make their home together in Tracy.
