Tennis: Jaguars beat East Union at home

Kimball 8, East Union 1

Kimball claimed a win in Valley Oak League play at home on Thursday, April 5, which moves the Jaguars to 6-3 in the VOL.

Kimball won all but the No. 1 singles match as East Union’s Mitchell LiWanag beat Kevin Sung 6-3, 6-3.

In the other singles matches, Mark Dalupan beat Tyler Berfao 6-4, 6-1; Daniel Lee beat Antonio Leon 6-1, 6-0; Amir Kabariti beat Raymund Martinez 6-1, 6-0; Nicholas Reilley beat Josh Kolkman 6-4, 7-5; and Troy Mathew beat Chris Marlow 6-1, 7-6.

In the doubles matches, Beau Lawrence and Marco Tello beat Alex Delreal and Wayne Cheung 6-3, 6-3; Ingel Salgarino and Arman Banghu beat Chris Herrera and Kevin Flores 7-5, 6-0; and Justin Aguilar and Ghayan Chotani beat Josh Fausto and Chris Rodriguez 6-4, 6-2.



Tracy 3, Lodi 2

Tracy High’s tennis team started the second half of San Joaquin Athletic Association play with a win at home April 5, a 3-2 defeat of Lodi.

The match came down to the No. 2 singles slate, where Tracy’s Anthony Klassen and Lodi’s Devon Villavin went the distance of three sets.

Villavin won the first set 7-6 with an 8-6 tiebreaker, but Klassen came back to win the second and third sets for the Bulldogs, 6-3, 6-2.

Tracy’s No. 3 singles player, Derek Paris also took a close win over Lodi’s Juan Aguire, 6-3, 4-6, 10-3. Tracy also took a win in the doubles as Andrew Jurado and Nick Vaishampayan beat Patrick Saroguza and Jordyn Matthews 6-2, 6-1.

Wins for Lodi included Jake Neal’s defeat of Ryan Black, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2, and a doubles team win for Nathan Saroguza and Nick Delcaiman over Tracy’s Paul Gleason and Andrew Canlas 6-4, 6-4.

The win puts Tracy at 4-2 in league play.



Manteca 5, Kimball 4

The Jaguars took a Valley Oak League loss against Manteca on Monday. Kimball swept the doubles matches, but lost five of the six singles matches. Kimball’s wins include: Mark Dalupan beat Michael Lopez 1-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-4); Beau Lawrence and Marco Tello beat Alex Vasquez and Thomas Reza 6-2, 7-6; Ingel Salgarino and Arman Banghu beat Sam Dhaliwal and Puneet Sandhu 3-6, 7-6, 6-4; Alex Pelletier and Amit Sandhu beat Angel Tejad and Izham Reger 6-7, 7-6, 10-7.

Wins for Manteca included Oral Nunis beating Kevin Sung 6-1, 6-2; Jacob Webb bouncing Daniel Lee 6-3, 6-4; Yok-Jing Ma beating Amir Kabariti 6-2, 7-5; Chris Kloska defeated Nicholas Reilley 6-2, 6-2; and Jorge Sierra beating Troy Mathew 7-5, 7-6.
