Youth baseball: Cardinals edge out Dodgers 6-5

Majors: Cardinals 6, Dodgers 5

The Cardinals and Dodgers traded the lead five times Wednesday, March 28, at Jefferson School before the Cardinals claimed the 6-5 win. Cardinals pitcher Mateo Molieri showed good command, throwing strikes on 57 of his 87 pitches. Molieri went 5 1/3 innings, struck out nine batters and gave up six hits and four runs. Cody Lavaghetto pitched two innings, struck out two and allowed no hits or runs.

Nate Nunez hit a solo home run over the right field fence for the Cardinals, Braden Mandracken had an RBI single, Colby Buntin had two hits, and Jacob Boren and Blake Vollbrecht also had hits.
