Police Log: Store clerk robbed at gunpoint

A store clerk was robbed at gunpoint at the 7-Eleven, 2360 W. Grant Line Road, at 3:59 a.m. Thursday, March 22. The clerk said he was making coffee when the gunman came in and warned him that he would shoot. Police checked the area but were unable to find the suspected robber. The robber was described as a Latino, between 20 and 30 years old, wearing a black jacket and jeans.

Tracy police received 156 calls for service Thursday, March 22. The following is a sampling of those calls.

1:17 a.m.: Police received a few calls from guests at Extended Stay, 2526 Pavilion Parkway, complaining about a loud argument between a woman and a man in one of the rooms. Police found it was a party, and the revelers were warned to stop having fun and keep the noise down.

6:03 a.m.: A vandal broke a window at Oh My Dawgs, 2745 Naglee Road. The vandal gained entry into the business, but no property was reported missing.

9:47 a.m.: A purse was taken out of a car while its owner was putting away groceries on the 2000 block of Foothill Vista Court. The woman saw a blue pickup pulling away from her driveway. She called back at 10:36 a.m. and told police she found the purse in the street and the only thing missing was her money.

11:01 a.m.: A resident said a man forced his way into a house on the 400 block of Marie Avenue. The culprit was described as an older, balding man with gray hair on the sides of his head. Police are investigating.

11:52 a.m.: A man said someone broke into his house while he was in the shower on the 400 block of West Beverly Place. He said he exited the bathroom and found his window screens removed and his front door open. He said nothing was taken.

1:31 p.m.: A clerk at Save Mart, 875 S. Tracy Blvd., was bitten by an irate customer. The woman was yelling and cussing when she was told she could not go back inside the store. Police cited her for battery.

1:33 p.m.: Two men were seen pulling wire from a median conduit near Grant Line Road and MacArthur Drive. They were workers from an electrical company.

1:49 p.m.: Police arrested a 32-year-old woman at Target, 2800 Naglee Road, after she allegedly phoned in a fake prescription to the pharmacy. Police told the clerks to keep her there, and when they checked her, they found a device used to steal cars. She was booked into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.

4:29 p.m.: Police arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of battery near 11th Street and MacArthur Drive. The man was seen carrying an Airsoft replica gun after he punched a man in the eye. He was taken to county jail.

6:27 p.m.: A car hit a retaining wall near Alegre Drive and Corral Hollow Road, and the occupants were seen trying to push the vehicle away from the wall and onto the street. Police are investigating.

6:57 p.m.: Mail was reported stolen from a mailbox on the 300 block of West Carlton Way.

8:00 p.m.: Police arrested a 34-year-old woman for driving without a license following a traffic stop near Lotus and Persimmon ways.

Obviously, another crime committed by a senior... they forgot why they broke in!
