Tracy residents Kristen Beitzel and Joe Carson will celebrate their nuptials at Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland on Oct. 13, 2012, with a reception to follow at Bancroft Hotel in Berkeley.

Joe proposed to Kristen on Oct. 1, 2011, by carving the phrase “Will you marry me?” into a row of pumpkins.

Born in Orange, Kristen is the daughter of Debbie Georg-Johnson and granddaughter of the late Randall and Minnie Georg. She graduated in 2004 from Tracy High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Tiffin University. Kristen became a veterinary practice manager after graduating from veterinary management school in Colorado.

Kristen’s service dog, a black Labrador retriever named Nietzsche, will be her maid of honor.

Employed by FedEx, Joe is the son of Al and Pam Carson of Tracy, grandson to Barbara Batten of Tracy and John Carson of Etna, and brother of Heather Carson. He graduated from West High School in 2004.
