Soroptimist International of Tracy, a service group that focuses its efforts on women and girls, will give two $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school senior girls who plan to attend a college or university in the coming school year.
The deadline to apply is April 9. Applications are available from local high school counselors or by email at sitracy@soroptimist.net.
GOP seeks female scholars
Tracy Republican Women Federated is offering two $1,000 awards to female students.
To be eligible, the young women must be from the area — having attended Tracy Unified School District schools or living in the area of Tracy, Banta or Mountain House. Scholarship-seekers must also be high school seniors or students at an accredited college or university.
Applications are available by emailing Michelle Loomis at trwf2012@gmail.com. The deadline to apply is April 13.
Two awards in Carol Phan’s memory
Two $1,000 scholarships are being offered to Tracy students through the Carol Phan Scholarship Fund. One of the $1,000 scholarships is for an International Baccalaureate or Agricultural-Scientific Academy student at Tracy High School. The other scholarship is open to any student from Tracy, including home-schoolers. Both scholarships require a GPA of 3.5 or higher and acceptance to a four-year college or university.
Deadline to apply for the scholarships is 3 p.m. April 6.

Historians announce scholarships
The West Side Pioneers Association will give $500 scholarships to two graduating high school seniors who have been involved in local history.
Applicants must attend school in the Tracy Unified School District and show some involvement in local history, perhaps by volunteering at the local museum or by writing a research paper. One scholarship will go to a student enrolling in a four-year university, and the other to a student headed to community college.
Application materials can be requested from the counseling office at each local high school or from the Tracy Historical Museum, 1141 Adam St. Applications are due March 31.

Energy foundation offers college support
Four scholarships are available to graduates of Tracy Unified School District high schools from the Tracy Community Charitable Foundation, founded by GWF Energy LLC in 2003. The $2,500 scholarships are renewable for four years.

Applications open for TAAA academic scholarships
The Tracy African American Association is accepting applications for its scholarship program, which gives educational opportunities to college-bound black students in Tracy.
The scholarships, for no less than $500, are for high school seniors who will study at a college or university full time.
Applications can be found online and must be submitted no later than April 21.
